Paradoxically, one of Nigeria’s very own, the Grammy award-winning artist Burna Boy, styles himself as the “African Giant.” His meteoric rise in the music industry, culminating in international acclaim, offers a stark contrast to the prevailing narrative of Nigeria’s unrealized potential. Is it then not puzzling that an individual can embody what an entire nation aspires to be?
